Behind the Scenes in India
CREATING A BLOCK PRINT PIECE
- Deepali and Nanu design a hand-drawn pattern.
- A master craftsperson carves the design out of a solid piece of teak wood.
- After the block is completed, a print artisan mixes natural dyes, dips each block into it, and presses it down onto the fabric yardages.
- Designs that contain multiple colors or overlapping patterns require the use of different blocks. This art of creating patterns on fabric requires an incredibly steady hand and a precise, repetitive movement to execute a master-level block print.
Our collection of block print is made entirely by hand, including the printing, cutting and sewing of each individual product at our facility in Jaipur and Delhi.
Master Print Artisan
Our handmade collection features artisan-made textiles. Every product is made in-house in our facility in Delhi and help sustain heritage craft and provide ethical employment, education and pride to our weavers, printers, tailors and their family. We are proud to be found in 200+ stores worldwide.
